 Today in class, Mr Rease introduced us to a new individual Career Research Project. I took a personal survey determining my career interests, preferences, and dislikes to collect any base information before starting any research. Advertising Promotion management was selected as the best overall career I could pursue but more research in-depth will be needed.

 Today in class we finished our group Literary projects we began working on Monday. I observed all groups present their individual work and thoughts regarding the story Antojos. Questions such as “What is the main character’s financial situation?”, “what is an antojo?” Were posed by other classmates in discussions. My group and myself found quotes from the story that described differences in culture and lifestyle between America and the Dominican Republic.

 I was at the Senior Sunrise this morning and was absent from class.

 Today in class Mr Rease assigned us a consecutive group project to work on regarding Literature Circle Roles. Each group member took a turn in reading the short story Antojos, by Julia Alvarez. I read about a girl who returns to her home of the Dominican Republic and learns of her true culture. Although it was a decent read, Antojos didn’t quite keep my attention as well as The Myth Of The Latin Woman did.

 Mr Rease was absent today. We did bookwork, I hope by the time i fall asleep I can say today was a good day.

 Today as a class we read the short story, The Myth Of The Latin Woman. We went in-depth on stereotypes brought upon those who speak spanish and the disadvantages these people face in the American workspace. I took notes on the story and wrote down plenty of interesting facts, misconceptions, and questions I had regarding the speaker. 

I was 40 minutes late to class today(running extremely late). When I arrived in class we were finishing up our group projects as I believe it was the last class period to complete them. 

 We had a sub today in Class and started work on our group projects.

My Fall Break went by much quicker than i thought but nonetheless was a much needed quality break from school. Mr Rease introduced us to a group project we’re starting this week in class regarding a randomly selected country. My group and I got assigned Guatemala as our assigned country to present towards the class on Monday. Im eager to start on this project and assume Guatemala has a richly filled culture.

Today as a class we presented our group projects on different Countries. Group members from Mexico and Guatamala presented interesting information regarding each country’s culture. My Group and I did Not present today but are prepared to most likely present tomorrow. A fact that really stood out to me today was the Queinceanra tradition Mexico celebrates for the age of 15.

 Absent.

 Today in class we chose our preferred Literary analysis prompts for tomorrow. I couldnt make a decision on which prompt to properly roll with on my essay. Im curious to see my writing abilities on this assignment.

 Today as a class we learned how to  effectively state character Claims. This is preparation for our literary analysis later this week furthermore allowing us more insight and practice regarding how to properly write. Mr Rease emphasized quoting specific character dialogue and events to use as evidence.
